I have heard so many people comment on what a strange timeline it feels like right now. I have a theory that it is has a lot to do with missing the ways we are used to celebrating. Those special occasions help us mark time. They give us things to remember fondly and things to look forward to again. It isn't that we haven't had life moments to celebrate, it is how we celebrate that may have changed. What hasn't changed is the extraordinary people that make these moments magical. 

• This past year I have been a recipient of extraordinary leadership. The selfless commitment to keep everyone employed and productive at Vanguard Skin Specialists meant sacrifices for our leadership team.

• I met a team of volunteers dedicated to providing underserved children in Colorado Springs. This leadership team found ways to celebrate each individual child without the benefit of large events. Children that wouldn't have experienced what a birthday celebration feels like were able to do so in 2020 because of these women at Royal Family KIDS of Colorado Springs.

• The countless stories from clients that exemplify what extraordinary means are some of my favorite memories from this past year. The humility people showed as they shared the ways they are helping others right now is inspiring. From the smallest acts of kindness to grand expressions of giving, people have continued to be extraordinary.

You may be that someone or you know someone that has been extraordinary this past year. It is time to create a special moment to celebrate. We are now accepting nominations for this year's "Extraordinary You" candidates.

We will meet with finalists May 3rd - May 6th. Winner* will be announced on May 7th. 

Winner will receive a personalized skin assessment and a VISIA skin analysis, clara medical skin care package worth $350 and a treatment at Vanguard Aesthetics valued at $250. The winner, and their organization if applicable, will be featured in our Extraordinary You marketing.
