We are thrilled to announce this year's Extraordinary Woman. Whitney was chosen for this recognition for her impact on the business community in Colorado Springs, her dedication to supporting displaced people in Ukraine, her commitment to the arts, and her work with TESSA.
The nomination we received for Whitney.
In the world of sustainable natural rubber and
latex and supply chain solutions, Whitney Luckett is undeniably a woman on the
move. Connecting North American companies with suppliers in West Africa,
Southeast Asia and China.
Luckett is founder and president of Simko North America, headquartered in Colorado Springs, and her business expertise is rivaled only by her passion for changing the world around her.
On a personal note, Luckett opens her home to hundreds of music lovers each year at her family’s Friends House Concerts, a series that has hosted traveling acts for 23 years. She has volunteered widely, including nine years for TESSA, supporting women experiencing domestic violence.
On the business front, she operates a 100% percent women-run company that provides $60 million in critical supplies to companies like Bridgestone and Goodyear Tire & Rubber.
Since 2022 she has served as Colorado forum leader for Women’s Business Enterprise Council (WBEC) - West, an organization that brings together corporations, governmental organizations, and women-owned businesses to promote a shared interest in supplier diversity.
In 2023 at the WBEC-West’s 20th annual Procurement Awards Conference in Tucson, Ariz., Whitney was recognized as the 2023 Exceptional Supplier of the Year.
Globally, she advocates for Ukrainians caught in the crossfire of the Soviet invasion, hosting a Ukrainian family in her home and raising money to provide supplies and build warming huts for internally displaced Ukrainians with a nonprofit she co-founded, Ukraine Power.
Whitney is an avid outdoors woman who places great value in living in Colorado. She enjoys yoga, hiking, biking, running, and skiing with her husband of 35 years and daughters Maxine and Ana Mai.
